IMAGINE WHAT IT IS LIKE...
...to be so poor that your only wish for Christmas is to have a single hot dog for your own.
...to be so poor and desperate as to abandon an infant in the jungles of Nigeria.
...to be a vulnerable, helpless child living in
the city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, a place where it's not uncommon for
unwanted children to be abandoned altogether.
This is a place where children are left to fend for
themselves in a sometimes harsh and brutal environment. Of
course, you can't save them all, but there is an opportunity for you to
personally make a difference in the lives of a few Nigerian children.
That's what Cliff Jarrell was led to do about twenty years ago in
Nigeria. Cliff wanted to do something to take action - so he began to
take in unwanted, discarded, and handicapped children - one by one. Some of these kids are so poor, their needs are so simple - like the child who wanted a hot dog for Christmas, and was so happy on Christmas morning when he discovered the Christmas meal included a hot dog for him.
Today,
over 100 children have been saved from a life of cruel poverty,
desperation, hopelessness, and even death. Now it's your turn to step
up and change the destinies of these forgotten children.
For less than the price of dinner for two,

The painting is finally completed and the cards are at the printer!
In these times of computers and automation, handwritten notes and cards increasingly rare. I know that folks get a feeling that there is just something special about a handwritten note or card. My cards were designed with a blank inside for that very purpose. When you receive your cards later this year, take a moment and make someone feel special by crafting a handwritten message, especially for them, inside each card. I know they will enjoy hearing from you!
A few notes about the painting:
The house depicted in this painting is just a few doors up from the house in which I grew up on 33rd street in Denver (My mom stills resides in our house after all these years). Every time I walked to the park just a block from our home, I walked past this house. There is something about this house that always felt like it would be a warm and welcoming place, especially around the holidays.
The theme is "Coming Home" or "Home for the Holidays". This will be a limited edition printing of just a few cards so be sure and let me know if you would like to have some this year. Cards are $20 for 15 full size 5x7" color cards printed on 100% recycled heavy card stock - price includes envelopes and shipping/handling.
